How To Make 2008 Great: Part 1
how does one go about making the year 2008 great
when you still have last year's stuff upon your plate?
but the one thing that I have come to believe and understand
is that God will always be the merciful shade upon my right hand
many people have become victims of circumstance
bad things occur be they coincidence of happenstance
just being in the wrong place at the wrong time
yet despite being innocent they're found guilty of a crime
and when the storms that come into everyone's life start to rage and blow
the only one's who'll throw you a life raft are the family and the God you love and know
so don't waste all your energy being consumed with your job or career
because when you die at your home going, who will be shedding real tears
and don't get so caught up in the pressures of society
make the time and take the time to be with your family
and that's one way to make great the year of 2008
another way to make the year 2008 great
is to put your trust in God and learn to keep the faith
there are things in this world over which only God has control
for He's the great and omnipotent one and the keeper of men's souls
Jesus is your salvation and if it had not been for Him
you would still be stuck in that eternal state of sin
to make 2008 great you need to be reborn in the spirit
obedient to the teachings of God until you finally get it
so continue to grow in Christ and come to a mutual understanding
to lean not toward your own knowledge but what the Lord is commanding
so don't become stagnant or polluted by standing still and then die
say yes to all God asks of you and keep your eyes on the prize
just drink of the heavenly wine that never stops flowing
and feed on the word of God for He is all knowing
to go about making the year 2008 great
you need to stay on the path that is morally straight
for it's only by the grace of God that you are still here
and it's only because of His power that you have nothing to fear
for great is He Who is in me, greater than all that came to be
for all the mysteries in this world God has all the solutions
so vow to be more like Him in your New Year's resolutions
so clean off your plate, keep the faith and stay on the path that is straight
and that's how you will make the year 2008 great
