How Lovers Work

Talk to me, as lovers should,
Explain to me your ideas,
Share with me your troubles,
Give to me your everything.
Allowing me to shoulder all
I can and return it with the
Small stuff filtered out.

Walk with me, as lovers do,
Show me what it is to be you.
Let me know what you see in me,
Explain why it’s small stuff
To you, but not to me.

Lie with me, as lovers should,
Show me your dreams in the clouds.
Stay here with me until the
Last light fades from the sky.

Love me, as new lovers do,
Teach me to love you as I should,
Show me places and things I’d
Never know without you.

Love me as much as I love you.
