How Long
How long will it take these tears to dry
Before it's safe to go back outside
And of these puddles at our feet
Salty tears make salty seas
How long can we play this charade
Before we give ourselves away
And if we had a chance to guess
Would we care more or less
How long before we need a bigger boat
To try and keep this all afloat
If we had two of everything
Would it make a difference in the end
How long will it take these tears to understand
And are tears ever really planned
Can we find strength in defeat
Splashing puddles in the street
How long will it take these tears to dry
Before it's safe once again to cry
And of these puddles at our feet
