How It's Done
Throughout my life, at extremely difficult times,
To make others aware of rules, I've written rhymes
Using guile and humour, with earnest hope they'll hear
The messages therein, and get my meanings clear!
I've noticed that at times, warnings written in verse,
Oft prevent bad situations from getting worse!
A few humourous words at an opportune moment,
May need little explanation, or further comment!
You'll get laughs and jokes, but the message will linger.
Your point gets across without pointing a finger.
They'll wonder why they didn't think of it first,
Whereas chastising often makes matters worst!
Folks will fiercely deny that they could be at fault!
And if you should insist, it's like rubbing in salt!
But a caution given, with your tongue in cheek,
Gets them thinking, and within a short week
Things will have changed! You can bet your life on that!
There's seldom need to put someone on the mat.
The work runs smoothly, and good feelings will exist.
Smart folks know the velvet glove hides an iron fist!
So try a few funny lines with a joke or two,
You might be truly surprised at what it will do!
But then, and only then, if this action fails!
Lower the coffin lid, and drive home the nails!
