How Is It Going To End
We can deny the script writers
if we want
we can deny the freedom fighters
if we want
we can deny the proof of our eyes
we can see exactly what we want
we can pretend it's better
we can deny it's worse
we can aspire to something much higher
or fall to the pit
we can promise or curse
if we want
we can deny ourselves
or someone else
we can fall to hate
and deny the power of love
What we cannot deny
is the inevitable ending
its always coming
always becoming
one way or another
it's always there on the path
as inescapable as forever
and forever is just around the corner
of another day
is it possible then
to live this
END
another way
If certainty was ever so poignant
does it haunt us
scare us into cognitive dissonance
make us cling to this thread
and never savor its weave of life
And if we know this
and we feel this
as it disturbs our peace
and itches beneath our conscience
Can we live with this
this END
and live the end
another way
