How I Love Them

It’s not necessary that my friends
feel the same for me as I do for them,
and truly, that’s okay.
Maybe I’m not on their favorite list,
Maybe I cross their mind only now and then,
Or when I call them,
But for me, they’re forever.
When I call someone my friend,
they’re not just a name in my contacts,
but a part of my soul,
a beat in my heart.
I know I can be difficult, a little crazy,
often silly,
sometimes too much.
But if you like me, you take me.
And if you don,t like me, well,
you still must take me.
That’s just how I come.
And today, I just want them to know,
though I never say it enough,
and they never feel the way I do,
they mean the world to me.
