How I Drove Grandpa Crazy
HOW I DROVE GRANDPA CRAZY
When aged three
Mother took me
And Grandpa in the car
Down the road not too far.
At the shop
Out she did hop
Where we waited and waited
Til Grandpa got frustrated.
I amused him with my toy
Which he did not enjoy
So I told him a tale
But to no avail!
Poor Old Bloke
He'd had a stroke
Could not walk
Or even talk.
He was bored
I was ignored
So I came to decide
I'd take him for a ride!
My buckle I undid
Behind the wheel I slid
Turned the key
Chuckling with glee!
I thought we'd go
Ever so slow
But soon we went
Faster than I meant!
Faster and faster
I felt like a master
Waving arms I could see
Flashing past me!
People shouted loud
I felt so proud
Then... just my luck
Along came a truck!
Heading for me
A crash I could foresee,
In the flash of a blink
I tried to think!
I thought I knew
What to do
But my brain went dumb
and I was numb!
I tried to steer
But off the road we did veer
Over curb's edge
Into a hedge!
I was white with fright,
Just hoped Grandpa was alright
He'd turned so red
I thought he was dead!
Soon Mother came
And took the blame
But was oh so furious
With crowd so curious!
I am happy to say
Grandpa is okay
But creates a huge fuss
When he goes out with us!
