How I Came To Be American

I was told a lot of things when I were a kid.

A lot of the bad stuff the people we loved, we new they had hid,

dreams of these things that seemed as real as could be.

the tricks that they played, eventually had centered around me..

Impossible is to some, i had came to see.

I new they were lying when they said all men are free.

Pull back the veil and what could it be,

How could the country I loved so dear, could do this to me.
