How Do the Great Poets Find Inspiration

What do the great poets think When they are spilling their ink Please do not ask me, I wouldn't know My every stanza a river of woe How do the great poets find Inspiration within their minds I really haven't a clue My ideas get stuck in queue What do the great poets do When the rhythm and flow isn't true Once again, I'm at a total loss ~ Time for another cup of the sauce

I know a portraitist who paints magnificent nudes, but he has to be smashed to do it. Perhaps the sauce has it's benefits?

Perhaps... Let's see. He is drinking tomato sauce? lol. Perhaps with a little 200-proof vodka squirted in 'just 'because.' Only one question: Do the models actually have to take off their clothes? --- or does the portraitist 'see them just fine' without that little technicality?! lol. :) gw

I think I shall start referring to my sauce as inspiration. Just one more wee dram of inspiration before bed.

Hello Gershon Wolf, I know some of my inspirations come to me in dreams. Some from else where. Also other places. Enjoy your day my friend.

Huh? What? Where's a great poet? I don't see a great poet. Did Aditi Mishra just walk in the room. Your comments are just over my head, I guess.... Thanks, my friend. Nice of you to say such kind words about me. :) gw

The ending is pretty clear; even though I had forgotten that we ever called it that. Smirk. Smirk.

Saucy comment, Caren! Perhaps you've forgotten about the usage of 'sauce' --- now that you're hooked on weed!! lol. Remember: Don't eat the yellow snow, and don't smoke the dandelions!! Smiles, Gershon

Ha, ha! I love the subtle way you expressed your understanding so perfectly, Evelyn -- that, in fact and of course, it was all about me!! lol. Seriously, thanks for not gloating or rubbing it in!! Appreciated. :) gw
