How Do I Tell Thee
How do I tell thee how I feel
When I'm stuck at the proverbial almost
Knowing that we'll never be the complete image
Merely a beautiful semblance
Of what might have been in some other lifetime
How can I step forward to tell thee
For thy lips are so inviting
With a smile that brightens my darkest hours
Oh how I long for thy touch
And to feel thy intensity through my soul
How do I wake from this dream
When I fear reality will stop me in my tracks
Alone and heartless is the light of truth
Daring to merge deep fantasy with hope
Yet still I want to speak these words
How do I tell thee how I feel
When forever will we be almost lovers still
