How Do I Say This

You don’t understand
It’s deeper than that
It’s a metaphor
It’s symbolic
It’s beautiful
It’s special
It’s perfect
But you’re not
You’re not beautiful
You’re not special
You’re not perfect
Not even close
Our words paint an ethereal plain
You’re just plain
We walk across the water
You drown
We soar through the sky
You crawl through the mud
We sit on the throne
You wither in the cage
Genius pours from our minds
Blood pours from your hands
We are hailed for our verbiage
You are mocked for your courage
We are made as false idols
You surpass your vast high goals
We cry when asked to make
You cry when words mistake
You
You for one of us
You are not one of us
When you run out of paper
When you run of of ink
When the end pulls us all under
Maybe it will be you
And not us
That is spared
By the ones
That know who
Really told the truth
