How Do I Feel

This is just simply how I feel. I am concerned about the kind of world that my grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and future generations are inheriting. I also realise that it is my generation that has done the most damage and is causing the majority of the climate change issues. Advances in technology and the rise in the populations of the earth have engineered the detrimental effects that are rapidly changing the climate. People's power and greed have also contributed.

How do I feel?
I feel bad,
It doesn’t seem real,
The world’s gone mad.
Everything I‘ve known
Is changing fast,
An ill wind’s blown,
The die’s been cast.

People are built up
Just to tear down,
Leaders seem corrupt,
Slipping is the crown.
The things I value
Are disappearing,
Can we undo
What we’ve been engineering?

CHORUS
So many lies, so much fake news,
What is fact? it’s hard to choose,
To ignore we must refuse,
We must act before we lose.

Promises broken,
A mess we’ve made,
Truth not spoken,
And I’m afraid.
Floods abound
And fires burn,
We’ve poisoned ground,
We never learn.

How do I feel?
I feel sad,
It doesn’t seem real,
The world’s gone mad.
What are we handing on?
We’ve taken the best,
The best has gone,
There’s not much left.

There’s so much hate,
Blood is spilled,
Is it too late?
Can voids be filled?
What can we do?
For time we lack,
I wish I knew
How to turn it back.

CHORUS
So many lies, so much fake news,
What is fact? it’s hard to choose,
To ignore we must refuse,
We must act before we lose.
