How Close Is Too Close, Or Simply Not Close Enough

As honey drops over your skin
I nourish all the things that we will never be.
I recall all the promises that we will never make.
I think of how your sweet eyes can leave a bitter taste.

I wish you could be softer
Or do I wish you strength greater than mine?
I wish you would say
I wish you would silence.
I wish, I wish, I wish!
That for the night you could be mine.

May 30th - The day your unsaid promise was broken.
