Hourglass
The grains of sand fall through our hands,
Until the hourglass runs out of sand,
You never know how much time you’ll have,
Time to laugh and love,
Time to hate and fear,
Time for just you and me,
All too soon the hourglass is out of sand,
You try so hard to flip it over and start again,
To try and save the one you love,
But too late you realize you can’t save the one that matters most,
It’s all you can do to love,
And live life the best you can,
No one can shatter the hourglass,
Before it’s time to go,
Then all the battles are won,
All the songs are sung,
You take your final bow,
Then you are just another grain of sand floating in the wind.
