Hot Summer Day

Sounds of the day?
Children at play.
It's summertime.
The weather's fine.

I'm at home with
me and mine.
It's piano time.
I listen to wind chime.

Cars passing outside.
Bees in their beehive.
Pigeons cooing in trees.
Warm summer breeze.

Clink of ice in glass.
Hope this weather lasts.
Music wafting from inner room.
My favourite piano tune.

Doze off in summer seat.
Woken by sound of wing beat.
Butterfly has landed on my nose.
Daren't breathe I suppose.

Phone rings inside.
Daughter answers, I hide.
"Do not disturb" my imagined sign.
Rather just drink wine.

Fall asleep in the haze.
Next to field where goats graze.
Sound of their bleeting wakes me.
Kettle whistling, time for tea.

Jean, I loved this care free piece. It reminded me of our visit to ireland. I delighted going to sleep and waking to the sounds of sheep near-by. Lovely! Congratulations on making the winner's list. 7 ; )

You know where I am coming from Jan. When those days arrive, we are like children in a sweet shop.

Thank you Kim. I am blessed not to live in a city. It would be difficult to fall asleep outside in one.
