Notes About The Poem

Another "Lawless" Sonnet....also known as "writing outside the lines"

HOT STUFF

The leaves seem to be smirking
Gently giggling in the dropping dew
Egging on the sting of a rising sun
Sheltering the empty bird feeder

Sad roses weep dewdrop tears
Summer’s shadows hints of fall
Garden sprinklers defy the water ban
Hawk’s struggle in the silent air

August will challenge the ripening fruit
She will throw down the gauntlet
Challenge the pumpkins of October
As lovers stroll along the beach

The moon will offer a subtle kindness
The soothing cool of the sun’s goodnight

ah, the transition from summer to fall....can't happen soon enough her...still so beastly hot in Texas...no rain since June...sigh....I miss 'cool.'

I like your out side the line - (lawless sonnet) on the delights of summer into autumn.
