Hot Plate of June
HOT PLATE OF JUNE
Plumes of unskilled daisies scatter, undone.
Pure bouquet brightens the borrowed garden.
Blue garter tight around her upper thigh, croon.
Anticipation simmers on this hot plate of June.
Groom rips open top button and loosens his tie,
dizzy with champagne and his alluring bride.
Virgin in lace and crowned with antique veil,
her pulse reddens as her imagination sets sail.
A final act to throw her bouquet aimlessly, sow seed,
spurring on a blushing bride, blessing a wife, godspeed.
