Notes About The Poem

Hot Air Balloon Rides

Excitement built up,
riding the hot air balloon
with my two daughters.
Turned to fear for falling fast,
bounced on the ground, and then dragged.

The frightening ride
happened in New Mexico
sixteen years ago,
did not dampen my spirit
for riding another one.

Felt no excitement
nervous from the prior ride,
calmly went for it.
Magic moment in the sky,
view of sunrise and balloons.

Way to get back up on “the horse.” No fear produced a stunning sight! Yes, just as you are “green” you live your life! I likewise loved my white water rapids thrill! Hugs!

Hello, Andrea. Yes, twice. The first was to celebrate my 58th birthday with my two daughters in New Mexico, during the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta! A scary one for we fell. The second was last year, when we toured Turkey. Seeing the stunning sunrise from the sky and all the colorful hot air balloons ... the sunrise and the meadows brought me peace and serenity and the other balloons delight ... Blessings, M.

Been a while since we met on the soup. Pity I never went for such a ride. Must be fun. Your friend from Malta.

Hello, Victor! First, was scary, we were only in the sky for five minutes for the wind was taking us to unrestricted area. To avoid that, our balloon fell. This was in New Mexico, USA. The second was one in Turkey last year, it was magnificent, seeing the sunset from the sky and colorful hot balloons around ours.
