Hostage In Darkness
Hostage in Darkness
I lie in the darkness for you are not here
I need to dream so I can persevere
I see in my dream the blackness prevail
Your deepset dark eyes and your ebony hair
And breath of your complexion bathed in sweet brown
Recalling the times we walked hand in hand
A garden of lilies along the land
Your body contrasting the white lighted hue
Then you left me one day and the colors withdrew
Dark shades of lament and the sad loss of you
Eerie and fearful I cannot deter
What lit up our love is now a dense blur
I wallow in black in a grayish dun
Perchance I will see your face in the sun
