Hospital
*Just a processing poem. Never underestimate Covid.
The machine is beeping non stop
As my head pounds along with it
Someone is screaming down the hall
The days are all merging together
The hospital has a way of doing this
Many times, I fought my way through
Plunging numbers and pain too
Balancing with vitals up and down
I ask a nurse for some paper and pen
She only brings me a small piece
I think, little does she know how much I write!
Thankfully, I make it home again
Now, time to process what went on there
Not wanting to be told to go back
Illness is a battle you can only keep hoping to win
But, appreciate for home increases every time!
