Hormones

My body is awash with serotonin,
Endorphin and adrenaline,

I pounded the pavement with such fury,
With earphones, with such fury,
On ears, Metallica pounded mine

I followed the track with such determination,
While frustrations, with such determination,
Followed me

I felt the wind ahead with such invigoration,
While hope, with such invigoration,
Felt me

I saw the twilight run away,
Slowly melting with the rising sun,
It’s warmth, hope’s ally,
Chasing pounding fury,
And determined frustration,
Away

Cortisol, Cortisol, Go away
Come back another day,
Today, George wants to play
