Horizontal Pause
A Horizontal pause in the evening light
staring up
feeling content on Earths soft floor.
Clouds confused pausing...seeming to
protect us from distant lights.
Eyes fixed, fragile hearts willing to
receive all beauty available
in this elevated silence.
White cliffs, soft clouds;
our infinite audience as natures
lazy applause moves gently over us.
Silent moments become my voice
as I gaze once more,
your soft features enhancing this finite world.
Overwhelmed with joy let me stay here
in an unfiltered state and breathe deeply.
Let this be not be a waking moment
but an awakening moment that
colors in lifes blank canvas.
And as we begin our slow vertical
stroll back to a more familair Territory
may this Horizontal pause keep me company
throughout my brief slumber.
