I have nothing left from when I was small. Nothing Nothing Nothing at all. I used to have shoes, I once had a ball, a bow that fit nicely with my violin, small. But now I have Nothing Nothing Nothing at all. But I have my memories, my hopes and my dreams, a life filled with friendship, a heart that bursts at the seams. A notebook with poems, a bear and a doll, a warm woollen jacket with a fitting shawl. Two mittens, a kitten, I wore a hat in the fall... But now I have Nothing Nothing Nothing at all. But I have my memories, my hopes and my dreams, a life filled with friendship, a heart that bursts at the seams. I have nothing left from when I was small. I used to have shoes, I once had a ball, a bow that fit nicely with my violin, small. A notebook with poems, a bear and a doll, a warm woollen jacket with a fitting shawl. Two mittens, a kitten, I wore a hat in the fall... But now I have Nothing Nothing Nothing at all. *** June 7, 2017 Copyright © Darren White

Nicely written Darren. Memories is all we really have from childhood to adulthood and that's is what we end up with when it is all said and done anyway.

I love this one, Darren, and I can so relate. I have nothing too as we moved around so much...and my 1st paintings, all my dolls, and records were even sold in a yardsale (without my knowledge). So sad but like you said, we have our memories.

That IS the most important. Living with my sister and her family is the best thing that ever happened to me :) Thanks Lenna!

the poem made me feel sad - and reminded me that I to have lost everything along the journey of life but the picture made me mad - mouse steal... - and it is like reading a poem that would be in a kids book - and i do like it

Mouse steal Verlecia? Yes, life can be hard, I know. This is about me and my own journey through life. But it is also playful, because it has light sides, and at a given moment I took life into my own hands and turned it for the good. You take care, ok? :)

Darren, this is a very moving poem/song that unravels masterfully with the list of concrete things that are gone now growing on the page as if to say goodbye while the refrain remains steady with its sweet message of hopes and dreams, & friendship and love . . . yet the loss remains:) Amitiés

Wow, once again your talent shines and I have to believe that this talent you possess is something you have had all along, so perhaps you do till have something from your childhood. This was wonderful Darren, almost Seuss-like in how it read out.

YEEEEES. That is what I had in mind when I wrote it. Seuss :) Thanks for recognizing. I have written poems all my life. In difficult circumstances sometimes on walls, or on scraps of paper found lying around.

My Dad (a refugee from East Prussia who lost his home) taught me that Languages and Travelling are so important, since you cannot take them away from you. My wife taught me about love, compassion and memories. Keep the hat for the autumn and cherish your memories. Nice write, one to remember...

My parents were refugees - exiles from Egypt. I am a different sort of refugee. But what I wrote is true. I have my hopes and dreams, my sister and her family and my friends. My poems and my memories of music and dance. It's good, so I needed to write this (hopefully happy) poem about it.

Wish I could write lyrics like this, Duir! You may want to look at your poem again my friend! It seems the >/em> are still showing for some reason!
