Hopeless

BY GILBERT MAPENGO MWANGUKU

Beliefs turning out untrue
Cherishing memories of bygones
Wishes of en-kindling back
The moments of time lost
Which is my next stride?
Hopeless

Fighting for freedom we won
But still slaves of deeds of our own
Dreams masked and corrupted
By the key that untied our chains
Where is the sweetness after all that sweat?
Hopeless

Mutant is the generation
The metamorphosis signals signs of time
Where man can marry man and mate
While incest news can be a dairy update
Is there a future for the unborn soul?
Hopeless
