Hopeful Again

The sun has risen from its bed of shadows.
Breath of fresh air filled my life.
Fear, at last, has melted into
History, a fragment of my painful past.
Brightness lights my path with clarity.
Sadness crawls into the recesses, hidden away.
Tears fallen were worth the lessons,
Learned by enduring time and distress.
I face the future unafraid,
Stronger than before nonetheless.
I am hopeful once again.
