Hopeful

HOPEFUL

That wars will end
That hunger will cease
That we will all live in peace
No more greed, anger, strife
Prejudice, hatred, bigotry or pride

Why do we abuse God’s precious gift
The freedom to choose
By choosing evil instead of good?
Deceived by the one who wills us death
Rebellious hearts
Many religions and man-made gods
Offering false hope
The souls of mankind
Searching for peace
And an answer to all
This chaos we find ourselves in

Should we close our eyes
And turn away
Take care of number one?
Impossible for us to
Take away all the pain
Indifference reigns

Hopeful that you and I
Will trust in the one
Who gives us life, peace
And victory over all evil
Hope imparted
To change what I can
To help where I am
To see others as valuable
And God as all-powerful
To catch his vision
For hearts of peace
To become a world at peace
