Hope My Heart Is Enough

All I can give you is my heart and I hope its enough
Will you respect it and hold it with a kind touch?
I'd give you the world but I'm unable to provide that
All I can give you is my heart and I hope its enough

I've been through the storm and I came out scarred 
War wounds from the battles I've seen
I kiss softly and I love hard
Will you help me to dream?

If you have a question then please ask it
If I give you my hand will you grasp it?
I want to hold you close without fear of you stabbing me in the back
I've been hurt so much, I just need you to respect that 

We can build slowly and grow in time
I want to hold your hand in public to show you're mine
I want to fall asleep with your head laid on my chest
Let's start our chapter so there won't be a page for the rest

I need you to be patient, because my past has hurt me so much
I've been distant from my feelings, but I want to learn how to show love
If you give me your all I'll pay you back with interest
But sometimes the prince needs to be saved by the princess
