Hope It's Not Too Late
Last night I got to thinkin',
of the years that passed me by,
and how many that I wasted,
it almost made me cry!
Age is gettin' to me,
my hair has turned to grey.
My pace is much more slower now,
I've seen my better day!
Well, hindsight's twenty-twenty,
no sense lookin' back!
What's done is done, the past can't change,
and that, my friend's a fact!
So, I'll do the very best I can,
With whatever time remains.
I'll do my exercises, every day,
Despite the aches and pains!
I know that yesterday is gone,
not to dwell on failures past.
I'll make the most of every day,
however long I last!
I'll take pride in all I do,
my values redefined!
I'll make a conscious effort,
to control my heart and mind!
I'll try to make life brighter,
in what I do or say,
and bring a smile to someone's face,
each and every day!
I know it won't be easy.
It could be quite a chore!
What I used to do by nature,
ain't that natural anymore!
So that's things as I see 'em!
I hope it's not too late!
I'll make the most, of the time I've left,
till I reach those pearly gates!
