Notes About The Poem

Hope is the thing with feathers-- continued

"Hope is the thing with feathers—
That perches in my soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all— "

Prayer is the thing with crosses
That, stationed in the heart,
Brings the Gospel, in few words
A contemplative start

I've read several of your poems Michelle and am really liking your style. There is so much said in so few lines which, for me, is the sign of a true wordsmith and poet. I really like your take on Emily Dickinson's work here. Cheers - Gary
