Hope Is Still Alive

Luna still orbits the Earth, and the tides still ebb and flow. But as wildlife goes extinct, anxieties quickly grow. The sky's still robin egg blue, and honey still tastes as sweet. But our cities are dirty, refuse pollutes every street. Flowers continue to bloom, and the rain still brings water. But most animals are pets, or livestock, bred to slaughter. The sun still rises and sets, and the seasons come and go. But where's the missing fauna, our children will never know? Hope is still alive, in the innocent eyes of a child. Yet once Earth's neutered and tamed, their world will never be wild.

You have a distinct style, Emile. Loved how you weave one observation with another thought which makes the reader think for every stanza. I think this is for a contest, so best to you! hugs!
