Hope In the Clouds

Peeking through clouds
watching earth move,
from way up here
it looks real smooth

Those little specks
that move on the ground,
are wandering madly
all about town

A sudden explosion
takes my surprise,
pulling the clouds back
I look through the skies

Seeing the earth
on fire and destroyed,
maybe they’ll learn
once all missiles deploy

Fighting goes on
across a worlds face,
and they wonder?
why man looses faith

I worry for worlds
that I’ll never see,
hoping my grand-kids
will grow and be free

So I do my small bit
in word and in life,
hoping for something
to shed a new light

And once all is done
with nothing left to do,
I’ll kick up my heals
and dream and hope too
