Hope

I keep going through
all of the beautiful memories
of the brief dream
that was you and me

You and I laughing together
Me teasing you with a smile
You teasing me right back
You helping me with math
Me helping you with English

Blushes and smiles
stolen glances
and a secret
not even you or I knew

I look back on those days
with a faint smile

seeing myself
a seemingly long time ago
back when

I had hope
