Hope

Hope is a feeling that sits deep within,
It’s a gift from the Lord when our hearts trust in Him.
There are many reminders that hope is around,
Like a beautiful flower that grows from the ground.
It’s the insect that waits safe inside its cocoon,
In the hope it will change to a butterfly soon.
It’s the wonder of life when a baby is born,
And the love of a friend when you’re feeling forlorn.
It’s the ending of wars and the cure for disease,
It’s when people work hard to find vaccines we need.
It’s when countries emerge from the lockdowns in place,
With a longing to heal all the loss they have faced.
Hope is a strength that we can’t live without,
It can conquer our battles with worry and doubt.
And when we fall down, it can pick us back up,
It’s a constant reminder of God’s love for us.
And when we grow weary, it gives us a boost,
It points to our Maker and grounds us in truth.
Hope knows no fear, and it’s not filled with sorrow,
It gives us a glimpse of a brighter tomorrow.
Hope brings a powerful meaning to life,
It can break through the darkness and show us the light.
It helps us persist when we don’t feel we can,
It reminds us there’s always a God given plan.
And through Him our hope is forever assured,
It’s a stronghold, an anchor, for all of our souls.
