Hope

On the verge of extinction, Yet battling its way out of my heart, Like a bird gone rouge trapped in its cage. Whispers promissory notes that its never too late, Neglecting the omission of forgery. Parents nagging for salvation, But blinded by shades of deception, I tell them I'll be okay at the end of the day. Inspirational when all is divine, Degrading when all is deficient. Hope, The contradictory standard.
