Honesty

I cut myself last night
Playing with broken glass
Trying to make myself whole again
To see from a different angle

Staring in the rearview mirror
Driving in reverse, trying to go forward
Looking to soothe doubt
By touching the void

Indulging insecurities
The cold comfort of fear
Testing my honesty
Waiting for the axe to fall

But you held onto me
That scared little boy no-one liked
Pulled him in close
Let him cry

Lifting us out of the tailspin
With your gentle heart
Telling your own story
Showing your fears

Another layer around us
As we get deeper
Stronger together
Safer in our love
