Honestly Love
I gave you the opportunity, I took the chance,
To open up my heart to you again,
This time I didn't hold back my words,
I even shared some things with you that no one has ever heard,
And again your ego and image means more,
You have only proven to me what I felt from before,
I'm not angry.... far from it actually,
Because I conquered my own fear of speaking to you personally,
Because your not high and mighty, your no different than me,
And it surprised me that we had more things in common than I believed,
Other than your ego....I'm going to set that aside,
Just like your doing right now to me due to your own fears inside,
But don't I deserve that freedom? Not to be scared?,
That I can be me, no matter what.. anywhere,
So no matter what you think, I was able to be me,
The chains of intimidation no longer exist.. your not a mystery,
To get out of that atmosphere was the best choice I ever made,
You studied me with intent back in the day like I was your game,
How sad is it that I reached out to you because I cared,
And all the while you made assumptions about me unaware,
Ridiculing my efforts to love you genuinely,
But isn't that what Jesus went through on his way to Calvary,
We never fight flesh and blood, but you know that,
And thank God he removed that stronghold and got that demon off my back,
Do I still love you... absolutely,
But I will never again let you do that to me,
You want love and honesty, you know where I'm at,
And even now I'll still be there, because my heart is intact,
But please let me remind you.. you cannot hide,
Because you know that I can see through it, every time,
And to have me for you is a scary thing,
Because I open your eyes and love you genuinely.
