Honest Lie
Your beautiful unfaithful lips once,
Brushed against mine planting dishonest kisses.
Your voice of treason spoke,
With a falseness in its tone.
Raising my inner suspicions,
Alerting my heart of duplicity.
I pondered the frequent question,
Why were you selling out our dreams?
Your disloyalty flickered,
Like a candle in the dark.
I have a feeling you won’t be returning,
So please give me one more honest lie,
And say you will...to keep me sane.
