Honest Introspection

I sought more than I could ever attain
In a long, foolish quest destined to fail.
A passage to a world where storm clouds reign
And in every corner a tragic tale.

Pain's royal throne in destiny's wicked clutch,
Front row seats to a future of despair
For thinking I could ever mean that much,
A foolish hope in an endless nightmare.

Just a sad puppet on a lonely string,
Forever trapped in a sadist's dream,
Driven into darkness by love's painful sting,
Traveling fast, down a treacherous stream.

Waiting here in agony for you.
Why? It's simple. It's because I love you.
