Honest Abe

How many legs does a dog have
when you count the tail as a leg?
Lincoln gave the answer of "four -
calling it a leg don't make it a leg."

What would Abe Lincoln say today
about the verbal gymnastics
that plague our political scene?
Truth is strength that empowers.

Printing money to pay one’s bills
is bogus when it all comes down.
Giving a person sugar
does not deal with his cavity.

Saying emails have gone missing
is not saying they can’t be found.
Telling liars they are lying
doesn't diminish depravity.

thanks, Dr. Upma, There's just something about truth that is hard to learn but once you have mastered it, it is hard to quit. Thanks for the kind words.

Reason, to empower by truth is to deplete the liar with all as face value. I enjoyed this write metaphorically. Of course, you placed with these idiosyncrasies. Congratulations on your placement in my contest. Hugs and Verlena :)s!
