Homeless and Helpless

Do you know what is like,
To be out on the street?
With nothing to drink,
And nothing to eat?

People walk past,
Looking down on you,
Like .you. are worth less,
Then the dirt on your shoe.

How would you like it?
Would you cope?
With the only escape,
Being smack and dope?

It's freezing cold,
With rags to wear,
Police move you on,
Does anyone care?

I steal a dog,
To help to protect me,
Because all humans do,
Is hurt and reject me.

My dog is now loyal,
His love is I've used,
His love I've returned,
Because he was abused!
