Homeless

Homeless is my name
I sleep in shame.
I lost it all in a blink
of an eye, all I do is cry.
Homeless is my name.
People stare an laugh
make fun of an run
this life I live is not fun.
I rummage through garbage
you see, to find just a crumb
to eat, I thirst so much
my mouth is dry, sometimes
I just wish I'd die.
I lost it all at the hands of others
A wreckage so big that it took
them all away from me.
My wife an two sons was all I had
now there all gone an I'm so very sad.
So when you pass by, don't laugh at me
because you don't know me.
You don't know the pain I bare
so don't stop an stare.
This is the life I was given
So remember this good,
the next time you pass by
That life can be taken in a blink of an eye
this may be you an I'll be standing on the other side.

Very well written. It teaches us to feel for the homeless n helpless. Moving indeed.
