Homeless

He sits alone at the corner of the street Not a penny in his pocket and nothing to eat The sidewalk is where he makes his nightly bed He can't remember when last he had a roof over his head He watches with a pitiful stare at those passing by He stretches out his hand but no one gives him an eye No one seems to care about how he must feel His stomach grumbles begging for a decent meal Constant solitude is his only friend When I wonder, will his misery end A homeless beggar but a human being nonetheless; Society's outcast, he's never shown any kindness Day in, day out, his struggles remain the same His ragged clothes is all that he owns to his name He wanders about aimlessly through the town But everywhere he goes they put him down It would seem life dealt him a cruel blow Alone is this cold world with no place to go What will be this poor man's ultimate fate? Its sad to see how others are so unfortunate
