Homeless
Nowhere to nest
he said it out loud
'Birds have nests, foxes have dens'
but we who scatter the earth
into places for the soul to shelter within
can find no home here.
What is that strange knocking
upon your heart,
who shatters all barricades
tears down your doors?
That would be the clear-eyed beggar man
he who travels in and out
of every shell we construct
from spit, sticks and the mud
that falls from our fears.
Say yourself out loud!
That bright being
that destroys castles
and the air they are built upon
he comes for you
and he is you.
