Homecoming
The smell of gentle rain in the court yard
The sound of the fog horn standing port guard
A taste of salt in the drops from my nose
All touch my soul as the life that I chose
I can smell the harbors I left behind
And hear traffic sound in cities of refine
Where the taste of culture foreign to me
Failed to touch the inner person I be
A sailor's smell is a talent so rare
The sound of his nostrils will lead to where
The taste of seafood cannot be denied
The touch of skin will tell if it be fried
Now I smell jasmine the vine of my home
While the sound of music from the churches dome
Reminds me to taste my aunt Millie's fudge
Then tell sister, Jack's touch is a nudge
