Home In the Rain

When the rain’s coming down
And the sky’s looking gray,
Then inside of my home
Is where I want to stay.

There are chores I can do
Or museums to see,
But all snug in my space
Is contentment to me.

Though I did take my walk
And I’m dressed to go out,
Just relaxing indoors
Is what I’m all about.

Since the weatherman says
That tomorrow will clear,
For today I’ll indulge
By remaining right here.

I wish I had your gift for writing verse the way you do, Ilene. They read and rhyme so effortlessly as if you didn't have to think them out! Doubtless why you're so prolific! /Maurice

In my younger day I enjoyed walking in the rain....... these days I see absolutely nothing to gain.. except maybe catching an awful cold..... I wonder if that cause I am getting old. Loved your poem Ilene. I agree the comforts of home are really best. These days I accept nothing less.

There is a great big world out there, but Inside is our own special universe. Thank you, Ilene, for sharing some of yours with us.

Right smart decision, Ilene. I, too, stay inside when the weather doesn't suit. Although it has been debunked (I think) I still believe a wet head puts one in danger of a cold.
