Home Grown Apple
juicy and fine
red and round
a bit of water in its stem well
the teacher expresses appreciation
the child is thrilled
the fruit sits on the desk with pride
the leaf indicates a fresh pick
Not from a store
They ruin the leaves
The teacher takes a bite
Curious and to compare
She is not disappointed
