My mom is picking me up soon.
I dress up a bit.
I throw on my best flip flops.
I throw on my best t-shirt.
I’m hurrying a bit.
If she walked in now, she’d see a crazy person.
All week, she’s been crying over a crazy person.
The nurses remind me to take my drawings.
I might be famous someday…
We can’t text like we used to.
So I’m waiting, excitedly like the good old days.
My mom is signing me out right now.
I hug her first.
She hands me my phone.
Messages prompting responses.
I put it away and hug her again.
Maybe for now-
It’s best to just hurry home.
