Homage

Maybe we're wasting time
Pretending to be fine
Not addressing the strain
We inflicted on our brains

Naming names
Placing blame
Never saying sorry
For fear of furry

Screwing up the script
Saying things without etiquette
Words lost in translation
Hearts snared in conflict

Paying homage
To the image
Of democracy
And carnage.
