Hollow Uncarved Heart

My heart was broken so long ago

If only i told you I loved you so

Do you think our lives would changed

Perhaps my heart wouldn't be in chains

Wish I could just rewind the time

So I could have been yours and you'd be mine

Where is the book that shows the way

To pause time to make it your way

Tell me how did I go wrong

Why does the pain have to feel so long

Like a hollowed out lump of coal

You would have one day been my diamond

But now all I feel inside is an empty black hole

It was one live and well now it's dark and I feel like hell

If I told you how I looked at you

Could you have loved me too

Or would it be inevitable

You'd see me as just a joke

Maybe if I turn my eyes

I'd be quicker to catch your lies

But like time I cannot be turned

Though the words you said were not your own

I pray one day to take you home

Hello Raven, you write well. It's not Blank Verse, but somewhere between Free Verse and Rhyme. Blank Verse does not rhyme, but it has a VERY strict meter :) The sadness in your poem is palpable, you write that very well for us to understand. Thank you.
