Hollow Room

Hollow Room

The emptiness of your room full of things is jarring

It’s silence so loud you can hear it
toys once alive now stoic
bedtime stories reduced to ink and paper
Stuffed animals only stuffing
Ponies and dolls, immovable and muted
Games no one wins
Unbuildable legos
Dress up clothes only fabric
Puzzles turned to cardboard
Precious Trinkets and keepsakes now meaningless
Stickerless windows
A door to the future now a chasm to the past
Echoes of Hope on the walls
Memories made now fading
Moments frozen in time
A room full of life now void
